My career to date has enabled me to gain extensive experience of editing and proofreading a wide range of general and scientific documents. After gaining my BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology and PhD in Microbiology at Cardiff University, I moved to Edinburgh to take up a post doctoral position at the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling (ICBD) within Heriot-Watt University. As a result I have published many peer reviewed papers, presented findings at national and international conferences and over seen BSc, MSc and PhD projects and dissertations.
A subsequent move into the field of quality assurance has led to 9 years
experience of writing and reviewing documents / reports within the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industry. My background also includes the auditing of European field reports and trials / contractors whilst within the agrochemical industry and being a lead auditor within the pharmaceutical industry.
I have completed the Proofreading course run by The Publishing Training Centre (passed with merit) and I am listed as a proofreader on The Publishing Training Centre website in the freelance directory.
